Hello kawaii readers! Kumako here!
どもみんな-さん! くまこです.
Here's to another DIY!
So today, I'm gonna show you how to make your own font. Yes! Turn that beautiful handwriting into awesome font you can use anywhere! Yay! I'm so thrilled. So let's get started!
All you need is this template/s, optional pen and scanner.
You can download the template here
Next is to either PRINT it like I did or you can fill it up on editing softwares like Photoshop or Paint.
Then get your pen and start writing letters. Remember to not go OVER outside the guidelines. Use a felt-tip pen with a medium to thick tips.
You don't have to fill it all up, specially on the optional characters. Just write the symbol/s that you just need.
Now that your template is complete, open your scanner and scan the paper. (skip this step if you used fill it up via paint/psd)
I'm using Epson scanner and here is my settings. Choose Grayscale and put 300 on the resolution. If you can't find this, remember to check the scan 'mode' in the upper right corner. And click SCAN.
Now let's go back here and let's upload the image file you've just scanned. Name your font and click START. You don't have to change the output format though. :D
Just wait for a second and tadaa~ a preview of your own font. If you're satisfied with what it looks like, click the link below the result to download it.
Click on the downloaded TTF file.
A window like this will open and all you have to do is to install it on your PC. Click Install. In just a second, the font is installed.
It's time to try out your font! Open any program with text input such as MS Word, Paint or Photoshop. Find your font in the dropdown menu. Use suitable font size so you can clearly see your font. And there you have it!
Hope you like this tutorial! Tell me if you do it as well. I'm happy to see it. ^^ じゃね
