I'm back from post block!
So first, gather your materials!
We need:
- felt fabric
-light colored pencil
-a pair of scissors (need sharp or else you will have a bad time cutting the felt. I prefer a scissor made to cut fabric not that scissor for papers)
-a piece of ribbon
-2 pieces of toilet carton roll (let's save the environment let's RECYCLE)
-Glue gun
-Glue stick
-Thread and Needle for stitching
So first step,
Combine the carton tubes
After doing it, you'll have....
Something like this.
Next, measure the height of your roll. And do the same with the width. You call roll first the fabric and measure how long it will go. Long enough to cover the entire cylinder. ^^ Oh and remember to put allowance!
Create 2 circles for the lid and one for the bottom so the pens wouldn't go through our holder. I already made a rectangle with the same width as the body. The height of that rectangle is your own preference. Mine is about 2 inches. I used the tube to make the circles but make sure to leave necessary allowance for the stitching part.
After cutting the pieces you'll have this
Next step is to ready your glue gun. Heat mode on!
Wrapped the fabric around the roll and glue the end of the fabric. DO NOT glue it with the carton directly because you will need to take it off later.
Now let us remove the roll and get the fabric. Get the circle piece that we have before.
I outlined the part that I stitched. It's unnoticeable in the image because I used a dark thread. Put the edges of the circle to the 'mouth' of the cylindrical fabric and start stitching. (I hope you get the idea?)
Now do the same thing with the lid. After you're done it will look like this.
You can turn it inside out for the lid to look like this one.
I don't recommend to do this on the body because....I just don't like how it looks. haha. It's your own preference, do what you think is nice. ^^
Remember that we did allowance to the measurement? Don't worry if it longer than the roll itself. we can just fold it inwards until the roll reaches the bottom. ^^
We're almost done! So far we have this:
*Sakura petals effect*
All we need to do is tie the ribbon around!!!
You can put at least 8 pens inside it!
Ahhhh...I wish I made it sooner. I can put that sketch inside this before giving it to Karo-kun. TT^TT
Congratulations to all 2015 graduates!
Ja ne~
Kumako.
